In 2000, Wilem van Zoetendaal, gallery-owner, graphic designer and publisher in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, was commissioned by the Institut Néerlandais in Paris, France, to curate an exhibition on Dutch photography. The Institute Néerlandais provided funding for commissions to Koos Breukel, Theo Baart, Leo Divendal, Paul Kooiker, Johannes Schwartz, Pepijn Provily, Marjoleine Boonstra, myself a.o. the vast majorty of new photography was exhibited at both the Institute Néerlandais and the Maison Européene de la Photographie in Paris, France.

With this exhibition a bi-langual/twin publication (F/NL) was designed by Willem van Zoetendaal: a beautifully printed, small booklet with the best of Dutch photography and essays by Rik Gadella, director of the Institute Néerlandais and Philip Freriks, anchorman of Dutch NOS 8 o'Clock news and a francophile pur sang. Because of the Northern look of the French Capital, the exhibition was titled 'L'Oeil du Nord' (The Eye from the North).

This show received a lot of positive attention and was also featured on both Dutch and French national television.

For this commission I worked on two photoworks: Parallel, 2001 and Capital, 2001
