First new work from Xiamen (CN) for the exhibition in summer 2025

Created in Xiamen, in the Changyi Discovery Center in the Jimei district. An image of a gigantic LCD presentation on the ground floor of this ‘museum’ focussing on technology and the future.

The image on the screen shows a film still of a video presentation, illustrating Jimei as an idyllic, almost classic Roman creation amidst green parks. The buildings pictured are the Discovery Center itself, several government buildings and a large square with walking public.

There are no cars or traffic, there’s no high-rise, no industry. Only the wide open spaces in a dreamlike, fairytale state, like taken in a different era, in another dimension and paradise, in a digital reality.
Computer glitches and malfunctioning technology has created a whole new, in-between level of understanding of that what we see and that what we know.
